Why FDI Device Integration are Required for Industries?

The common components of FDI are EDD Engine and UI Engine. These engines follow a multiprotocol approach to provide support PROFIBUS, HART, PROFINET, and FF. Backward compatibility with the binary formats of EDDL is also supported. The UI engine builds a device-specific user interface based on the device description. Also, it is independent of communication protocols, which allows you to integrate device protocols effectively and simultaneously for easy interoperability.

2. How does FDI work?

The data from the physical device is transmitted to a FDI host that loads the FDI device package that consists of EDD, UIP, and attachments. From here, the data is sent to the FDI server. Data in the server can be accessed by the client on a mobile phone or a computer system. It can also be stored in Cloud storage and accessed when required.
